Position Summary

This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and precise flow of materials essential for daily shipping and production operations. Responsibilities encompass activities related to receiving, storing, tracking, issuing, and dispatching materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and components within a stockroom, warehouse, or yard environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare shipments for company drivers and common carriers, coordinating daily pickups and deliveries.
  • Manage freight carriers for the timely collection of all outbound shipments.
  • Ensure compliance of all Shipping/Receiving documentation with the established record retention guidelines.
  • Accurately package and prepare shipments for customers and suppliers according to schedules.
  • Handle necessary paperwork for various shipments, including overnight letters and returned goods.
  • Receive and inspect incoming products, processing the required documentation.
  • Document and report any damage to incoming and outgoing materials, communicating with relevant personnel.
  • Uphold a positive company image through professional interactions with employees, customers, suppliers, and freight carriers.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse to ensure constant audit readiness.
  • Guarantee accurate and timely EDI transactions.
  • Promote safe and efficient warehouse operations, emphasizing safety awareness.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Establish and maintain documentation of customer-specific shipping requirements.
  • Implement and uphold processes and work instructions for warehouse operations.
  • Operate various types of material handling and packaging equipment.
  • Collaborate with carriers to expedite or trace deliveries as needed.
  • Complete daily inspections on material handling equipment.
  • Ensure accuracy in daily shipping documentation and conduct quality audits of outgoing shipments.
  • Manage inventory of freight carrier supplies and reorder as necessary.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels of shared shipping supplies.
  • Coordinate material movements and requirements with the Buyer-Planner.
  • Adhere to the Fleet Safety Program when operating a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Support and engage in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold the values of BJ CAAS Advisors, including compliance with Quality Management and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within the first three months).
  • Associate's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Shipping/Receiving, preferably in the automotive sector.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in material handling and forklift operation.
  • Familiarity with RFD scanners.
