Job Title: Energy Transformation Associate Director

Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Energy Transformation Associate Director to join our Energy, Sustainability, & Infrastructure (ES&I) team. As a key member of our team, you will lead and deliver small projects, or workstreams of complex projects/programs, to help our clients strategize, plan, implement, and evaluate transformational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead teams in creative problem-solving and outcome-driven solutions for clients
  • Manage teams to provide detailed fact-finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activities
  • Perform, advise, and review technology assessments, statistical analyses, and economic analyses
  • Facilitate meetings and working sessions between client departments and organizations to lead discussions, form relationships, and facilitate consensus-building
  • Communicate solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations
  • Organize and prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for client deliverables
  • Work effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team, delegating work and managing colleagues as needed; work independently as needed
  • Mentor and manage junior staff
Requirements:
  • Due to the nature of client engagements, US Citizen or US Permanent Resident required
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of professional experience with utility consulting organizations, professional consulting services in the Utilities industry, strategy consulting within Utilities, or management consulting for Energy/Utilities companies in the United States; Or Master's degree and 5+ years of professional experience with utility consulting organizations, professional consulting services in the Utilities industry, strategy consulting within Utilities, or management consulting for Energy/Utilities companies in the United States
  • A high level of understanding of utility grid modernization, DER/DERMs, electric transmission and distribution infrastructure planning and operations
  • Experienced in developing and delivering presentations to executive audiences
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work onsite in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location
  • Level of hire will be determined through Guidehouse interview process
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to candidates within 60 miles of a Guidehouse office
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, including advanced organizational and project management skills
  • Prior consulting experience with client-facing roles
  • Knowledge of industry technologies such as energy storage, solar, electric vehicle infrastructure, DERs, OMS, ADMS, and GIS
  • Experience with program oversight such as capital programs or grants management
  • Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with data
  • A history of successful, creative problem-solving within the utilities industry
  • Excitement to explore the underlying cause of observations and results
  • Experience with cloud technologies
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team, as well as work independently
