Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing/incoming shipments. Key Responsibilities
  • Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
  • Handles safety inspections to ensure company safety standards are met.
  • Determines required space and notifies proper person if loads are not completed or need to fill space on loads.
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
  • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel if needed.
  • Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping area to storage and work area.
  • Oversees incoming and FedEx/UPS shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Determines space requirements and position of incoming supplies.
  • Designs location stocking.
  • Inspects unloading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and notifies proper person in case of damaged or incomplete orders.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 6+ years progressive warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • High degree of proficiency in computer applications, including SAP (training provided).
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
Physical Aspects / Work Environment

This role requires regular standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking, hearing, and seeing. Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds is also required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
