Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to join our team at Colgate-Palmolive. As an Operations Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our production operations, ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with startup, changeovers, and line shutdown of automated and manual equipment within your assigned area of the production facility.
  • Perform Housekeeping activities as per master sanitation schedule, and conduct/participate in area housekeeping assessments as required to meet all GMP's, FDA, regulatory and Corporate requirements.
  • Assist with finished goods preparation and inspection; including top cap placement, inspection checklist, legible date codes, quality of bag seals, and packaging inventory/put away.
  • Monitor and support line operation during lunches, breaks or as needed.
  • Remove and dispose of Production line waste according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment throughout the production areas during operation.
  • Support packaging lines with staging of resources needed based on the production schedule including hand stacking of all bag sizes.
  • Perform basic quality checks.
  • Manage Dump back/Regrind/Reblend product movement.
  • Attend the Shift Transition Meeting to understand current shift production schedule.
  • Understand and follow Hill's policies, safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety. Identify and report Food Safety issues to management. Complete assigned trainings, monthly eLearning and audits.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Problem assessment and resolution.
  • BASIC DIGITAL LITERACY IN MS WORD AND EXCEL OR GOOGLE WORKSPACE.
  • BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF MATHEMATICAL CALCULATIONS, WEIGHTS AND MEASUREMENTS.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical College/Vocational school certificate or an Associate's Degree in related areas of manufacturing, Food safety experience, and forklift experience.
Working Relationships
  • Operations Technicians.
  • Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, EOHS, HR, Finance, Procurement, etc.
  • AIB, FDA, USDA, and other external auditing agency's or customers.
  • External Cleaning and Sanitation Services.
  • External Temporary Employees.
  • External supply Vendors.
  • Shift Coordinators, Team Leaders, Operation Planners, and Managers.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $ - $ USD. Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements.
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually.
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually.
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year.
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements).
