Position Overview:
As a vital member of AVANGRID, Inc., the Technical Trainer will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our electric operations personnel. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and have a strong background in technical training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing System Operators, Distribution Operators, and operations support staff.
  • Assess training needs and design orientation programs tailored for new department employees.
  • Maintain accurate training records and administer assessments to evaluate trainee performance.
  • Conduct advanced training sessions focused on Company Switching & Tagging rules and job writing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC ERO standards and maintain auditable records of training activities.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and refine training programs that promote safe and efficient electric system operations.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and implement improvements as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Alternatively, an Associate's Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a High School/GED with 10 years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Extensive knowledge of training methodologies and program development is essential.
  • Experience with Electric SCADA Systems and simulation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, administrative, and interpersonal skills are required.

Certifications:
Candidates must possess or be able to obtain NERC Operator Certification.
