Position Overview:
As a vital member of AVANGRID, Inc., the Technical Trainer will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our electric operations personnel. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and have a strong background in technical training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing System Operators, Distribution Operators, and operations support staff.
- Assess training needs and design orientation programs tailored for new department employees.
- Maintain accurate training records and administer assessments to evaluate trainee performance.
- Conduct advanced training sessions focused on Company Switching & Tagging rules and job writing standards.
- Ensure compliance with NERC ERO standards and maintain auditable records of training activities.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and refine training programs that promote safe and efficient electric system operations.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and implement improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Alternatively, an Associate's Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a High School/GED with 10 years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of training methodologies and program development is essential.
- Experience with Electric SCADA Systems and simulation tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, administrative, and interpersonal skills are required.
Certifications:
Candidates must possess or be able to obtain NERC Operator Certification.
