Faculty Position in Clinical Science Education

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative faculty member to serve as a medical educator in the areas of clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, and large group learning and small group facilitation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pathology and clinical medicine, with experience in teaching and curriculum development. The position is a non-tenure track appointment, and rank will be awarded commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in undergraduate medical education in some or all of the following areas: pathology, clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, large group learning, and small group facilitation.
  • Serve in curriculum leadership roles as appropriate.
  • Serve as content expert in some areas of clinical or surgical pathology.
  • Participate in educational research or other scholarly endeavors in collaboration with faculty in department or at partner universities.
  • Encourage scholarly activities with medical students and colleagues.
  • Serve on department or university committees.
  • Assist in academic advising and mentoring of students.
Required Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia, appropriate hospital credentials and privileges, and an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience in U.S. medical education programs.
  • Background in case-based and active learning methods in small and large group settings.
  • Engagement in research or scholarship.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
