Victim Advocate Residential Specialist

As a Victim Advocate Residential Specialist, you will provide direct services to individuals of various ages, utilizing OCO's Universal Service Delivery methods in program sites, during home visits, and in public places. You will provide early intervention and/or care management services to assigned populations, carrying out duties in accordance with Agency and Program policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide services at OCO program sites, consumer's homes, or in public places, as assigned
- Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and strength-based services for individuals and families
- Inform consumers of available services, provide referrals, and assist in connecting to services
- Implement assessments and individualized service plans for individuals and families
- Teach and coach life skills
- Provide or arrange transportation to enable consumers to connect with needed community resources
- Support consumers in providing information during appointments with community resources
- Attend internal and external meetings and training sessions as assigned
- Provide crisis intervention and initial contact/intake response, as assigned
- Communicate pertinent information to co-workers and supervisors
- Compile data for routine reports
- Complete all documentation as required, including electronic records
- Desire to work with individuals and families, with a thorough understanding of the family development process and the OCO Service Delivery system
- Self-motivated, resourceful, organized, and adaptable in carrying out job duties
- Familiarity with the geographical layout of the county and knowledge of human service resources
- Good oral and written communication skills, with excellent documentation skills
- Basic skills for word processing and data entry
- Ability to work with others in a warm, non-judgmental manner, and be a positive role model
- Flexibility with work schedule to meet program needs, including 24-hour on-call emergency services on a rotating basis
- Valid NYS Driver's license with a driving record within policy, and access to a properly insured, reliable vehicle for regular travel and transporting consumers
- Associate's Degree or equivalent in a Human Services area
- 12 months of experience with individuals, families, or a special population
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
