POSITION SUMMARY
The Lodging Financial Analyst will play a crucial role within our Shared Services Accounting Team at Alterra Mountain Company. This role is accountable for Lodging Accounting, Homeowner Accounting, and Accounts Receivable operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Lodging Accounting tasks, including daily/weekly/monthly analysis of Lodging revenues and expenses to ensure precise entries in the general ledger
- Prepare daily/weekly/month-end journal entries for Lodging Revenue and Owner Share Revenue
- Comprehend the flow of information through property management and general ledger systems
- Guarantee a thorough and accurate month-end closing process within the company's established timelines
- Generate monthly Homeowner Statements of account as per each resort Rental Management Agreement and distribute revenue payments accordingly
- Facilitate annual 1099-MISC reporting for Homeowner revenue payments
- Assist the General Ledger Team with account reconciliation inquiries for all Lodging accounts
- Prepare monthly Travel Agent statements and payments for commissionable reservations
- Maintain customer database for Accounts Receivable
- Generate and distribute Accounts Receivable Invoices on a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis
- Reconcile and apply incoming payments for Accounts Receivable on a daily basis
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred
- Familiarity with Springer Miller Systems (SMS) property management software is preferred
- Experience with Galaxy/Litespeed is preferred
- Knowledge of Owner Relations accounting software is preferred
- Basic understanding of US GAAP is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

- Highly organized with excellent follow-through and timely responses to inquiries

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory
Experience:
- 2+ years of accounting experience, particularly in Lodging/Homeowner Accounting and Accounts Receivable
- Experience with various accounting and property management systems
