Construction Assistant Superintendent

Job DescriptionThe Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for supporting the Superintendent in various aspects of the construction project.
Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying subcontractor layouts to ensure compliance with established control, line, and grade.
- Monitoring production and recording rates in a logbook for future scheduling.
- Maintaining a set of production documents and updating them daily to ensure an accurate picture of work in place.
- Reporting any field conditions or issues to the Superintendent.
- Monitoring job progress on-site, checking all work to ensure compliance with contract documents and the Quality Control Program.
- Working with the Superintendent to develop and carry out the plan and schedule for project work.
- Planning and preparing documentation to facilitate the close-out process.
- Maintaining and reviewing safety requirements for the project and resolving or reporting deficiencies to the Superintendent and Safety Manager.
- Coaching field engineers on the project to facilitate their skills development.
- Assisting in maintaining the Construction Management Plan and logistical coordination.
The ideal Assistant Superintendent will have:
- 3-5 years of superintendent experience in the commercial construction space.
- Ability to communicate with subcontractors and other project team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
