Job Description

The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for supporting the Superintendent in various aspects of the construction project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Verifying subcontractor layouts to ensure compliance with established control, line, and grade.
  • Monitoring production and recording rates in a logbook for future scheduling.
  • Maintaining a set of production documents and updating them daily to ensure an accurate picture of work in place.
  • Reporting any field conditions or issues to the Superintendent.
  • Monitoring job progress on-site, checking all work to ensure compliance with contract documents and the Quality Control Program.
  • Working with the Superintendent to develop and carry out the plan and schedule for project work.
  • Planning and preparing documentation to facilitate the close-out process.
  • Maintaining and reviewing safety requirements for the project and resolving or reporting deficiencies to the Superintendent and Safety Manager.
  • Coaching field engineers on the project to facilitate their skills development.
  • Assisting in maintaining the Construction Management Plan and logistical coordination.
Requirements

The ideal Assistant Superintendent will have:

  • 3-5 years of superintendent experience in the commercial construction space.
  • Ability to communicate with subcontractors and other project team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
