Electrical Designer Opportunity

SMMA is seeking an electrical designer to join our team in Cambridge. As an integrated design firm, we offer a dynamic and collaborative environment where you can work on stimulating projects and advance your career.

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong foundation in electrical engineering and design principles. The successful candidate will assist our Lead Electrical Engineer in developing plans and specifications for various projects, including commercial, workplace, laboratories, and institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior engineers in developing electrical construction documents, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform production tasks using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Create and modify details tailored for each project.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, such as reviewing submittals and performing construction punch lists.
  • Engage in technical discussions with the project lead or as part of a project team meeting.
  • Review plans with all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated construction documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-4 years of experience in building electrical systems using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Basic knowledge and fundamental understanding of electrical systems and applications.
  • Eagerly pursuing Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
