Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Viejas Casino. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine, skilled, and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our public facilities, roads, fencing, landscape, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Janitorial Duties: Perform tasks such as stocking supplies, cleaning, dusting, washing, emptying trash, mopping, and waxing as needed.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform light carpentry work, minor electrical work, including replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing as needed, and repair facilities.
  • Landscape Maintenance: Mow the grass, weed, plant, and prune bushes, and maintain the surrounding landscaped areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inform supervisor when equipment and/or facilities require repair and/or maintenance.
  • Supply Management: Request, receive, and distribute supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Vehicle Operations: Drive utility vehicles such as pick-up trucks, golf carts, etc.
  • Transportation: May transport team members and supplies/materials.
  • Communication: Operate two-way radio to communicate with base station or other vehicles.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly job duties check-off list, and maintain a monthly vehicle report log.
  • Safety and Compliance: Safely operate tractors, mowers, vehicles, power tools, and equipment, follow dress and personal hygiene regulations, follow all California Vehicle Laws, and follow team member regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or General education degree (GED) is required.
  • Experience: Two or more years of experience/training in maintenance, landscape, and/or janitorial work.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of driving/roadway laws and regulations, possess and maintain a satisfactory driving record, demonstrated cultural sensitivity and acceptance of diversity, possess proficient verbal and written communications skills, strong organizational and time management skills, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and possess initiative and is comfortable performing tasks on time with minimal supervision.
