Role Overview:
If you are passionate about audio or music, Bose Professional offers an exciting opportunity to join the System Validation Engineering Team as a Lead System Validation Specialist (LSVS). This role is pivotal in supporting new product development and ongoing engineering projects.

The Lead System Validation Specialist is responsible for coordinating product verification and validation efforts with product development teams. Acting as the primary technical contact for validation processes, the LSVS engages in multiple projects concurrently. The primary aim is to ensure that products comply with global legal standards and internal specifications prior to release. Key responsibilities include developing and managing initial product risk assessments and establishing a comprehensive validation strategy.

Moreover, the Lead System Validation Specialist collaborates with development teams to review and finalize the validation strategy and oversees its implementation across Bose Professional Compliance functions. As a subject matter expert, the LSVS delineates environmental and mechanical testing requirements and partners with various compliance disciplines to ensure that testing and certification plans are clearly defined and executed. These disciplines include EMC, Safety Compliance, International Certifications, Energy Efficiency, and ECO Compliance (RoHS/REACH).

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills to keep global project team members updated on testing progress. A strong foundation in system engineering is crucial for analyzing test outcomes and evaluating the impact of design modifications across various development areas. The role may also involve defining new testing requirements and procedures to adapt to advancing technologies and usage scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehending Safety, EMC, and Environmental & Mechanical testing protocols.
  • Exhibiting strong Project Management and Scheduling capabilities, with a background in Reliability Engineering being advantageous.
  • Demonstrating expertise in all phases of engineering product development.
  • Understanding various manufacturing techniques.
  • Possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective collaboration in global teams.
  • Employing reverse engineering methods for product failure analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in testing Wireless Products (Bluetooth, WiFi), Li-Ion Batteries, Audio Transducers, and Audio Precision is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of product reliability design methodologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, JIRA; Familiarity with PTC CodeBeamer.
  • 8 - 15 years of experience in managing testing and/or validation of consumer/professional products.
  • A passion for Audio/Music and/or experience in the audio sector.
Educational Background:
  • BSEE or MSEE with a minimum of 10 years of experience in validation or related reliability testing.
Travel Expectations:
  • Occasional domestic and international travel (up to 10%).
