About the Role

As a CBRE Senior Building Engineer, you will be responsible for performing sophisticated preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and/or HVAC/R equipment, machinery, and controls located in the interior and exterior of buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, monitor, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on building equipment, including mechanical/HVAC-R/plumbing systems, electrical/cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems.
  • Maintain the professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
  • Prepare estimates detailing the amount of time and materials needed for completing tasks.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and tools and order vital materials to finish tasks.
  • Coordinate and inspect the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Perform work in compliance with standard operating procedures and/or critical work packages, and maintenance work instructions.
  • Perform niche and sophisticated tasks such as carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding, furniture assembly/relocation, and locksmith tasks.
  • Perform inspection of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Use PC and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training.
  • Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns.
Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Electrical license preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and trade school or training.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years experience in electrical systems, refrigeration, and/or HVAC/R (refrigeration) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Stationary Engineering experience that focuses heavily on HVAC/R, Electrical, Boiler & Chiller Operation and Maintenance.
  • EPA Universal 608 certification preferred.
  • Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
