Position Overview
The Senior Building Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of building systems. This position is responsible for executing advanced preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as repairs and installations of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/R systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC/R equipment.
- Maintain the aesthetic and functional integrity of the property and its engineering spaces.
- Prepare detailed estimates for maintenance tasks, managing supplies and tools effectively.
- Implement energy management strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized services, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
- Perform complex tasks such as carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing, along with inspections of critical systems.
- Utilize technology for work order management and respond to urgent situations as they arise.
Qualifications
- Must possess relevant certifications, including EPA Universal 608 and electrical licenses.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in building systems maintenance, with a focus on HVAC/R and electrical systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training in a related field.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting heavy objects and climbing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze technical issues effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
