Job Summary

We're seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team in the Twin Cities Infrastructure Team. As a Civil Engineer in Training, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of innovative and diverse projects, including the design of civil and municipal engineering projects for highways and local roads, public utilities and public works, parks, trails, and related infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a team in the development of civil designs, preparation of plans and specifications, reports and other technical tasks on projects under the supervision of a Project Manager or Project Engineer.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Perform field work/construction observation under the supervision of a senior engineer/designer and/or construction manager as needed.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to request for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written, with project team members, clients, and contractors.
Requirements
  • Seeking a motivated individual who is enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, organized, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of general concepts of civil engineering design, materials and industry standards.
  • Strong interest in serving municipalities with their infrastructure needs.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas effectively.
  • Ability to take direction and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
