- Maintain strong client relationships and facilitate communication between office and field staff.
- Organize and schedule field crew activities for construction services.
- Collaborate with field teams on inspections, operations, and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure construction activities meet quality standards and adhere to design specifications, budget, and timelines.
- Implement and supervise materials testing and pavement assessment programs.
- Provide leadership and oversight for construction supervision, including contract management and quality assurance.
- Inspect project completion and verify workmanship quality with crew leaders and subcontractors.
- Interpret and apply construction plans, standards, and specifications.
- Coordinate efforts among agencies, contractors, and city departments.
- Review project drawings and specifications to fully understand project scope and client expectations.
- Identify construction methodologies and potential risks to enhance efficiency.
- Gather data, devise solutions, and adapt to changes in work processes.
- Monitor project budgets and financial metrics for all construction services.
- Assess contractor and supplier invoices against actual performance.
- Evaluate contractor change requests for compliance with contractual obligations.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to financial and operational requirements.
- Review quotes, material requests, and deliveries to ensure quality control.
- Maintain accurate estimates of project completion timelines and costs.
- Prepare regular reports and documentation for project tracking.
- Collaborate with GIS teams to ensure accurate field data collection.
- Conduct regular meetings with field staff to stay updated on project progress and resolve issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Project, ESRI/Arc GIS, and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% in various environments.
- Ability to work independently on both private and public sector projects.
- Valid driver's license required for travel to project sites.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively in diverse teams.
- Resourceful and analytical mindset with a proactive approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Experience leading small project teams and mentoring junior staff.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Open to innovative ideas and change.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with NASSCO Standards and community construction standards.
- Availability to respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Basic knowledge of web-based GIS applications is a plus.
- Advanced understanding of relevant codes and standards.
