ROLE SUMMARY

The Youth Care Worker plays a vital role in the active engagement of unaccompanied minors (UC's), focusing on fulfilling their developmental, cultural, and care requirements. This includes ensuring their daily routines, participating in program activities, supporting the UC's individual case plans, and fostering their personal growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a secure environment for UC's.
  • Provide consistent supervision of children to meet required ratios.
  • Encourage developmental opportunities through engaging activities.
  • Support clients in acquiring independence skills.
  • Facilitate educational and social engagement.
  • Promote community access and integration.
  • Keep accurate records and fulfill reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with fellow Youth Care Workers and supervisors to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Follow the Case Plan for assigned UC's under the guidance of Caseworkers and supervisors.
  • Encourage participation in culturally relevant activities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; 12 months of experience working with youth; valid driver's license and proficiency in MS Office 365.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Understanding of DEI principles, proactive conflict mediation, and a collaborative team approach.
