Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Project Director, the instructor conducts all training activities and coordination related to the SAMHSA Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) for Service Providers & Families of Armed Service Personnel & Veterans Grant. Through community outreach, the instructor establishes cooperative and collaborative partnerships throughout the veteran community to facilitate scheduling and facilitation of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Veteran-module trainings, Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM), and Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) trainings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform all training programs under the grant.
  • Maintain the necessary curriculum for MHFA, CALM, and SPI to meet the needs listed in the grant.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing all data as listed in the grant.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative partnerships throughout the veteran community.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.
  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

  • Veteran or family member of a Veteran.
  • Bilingual preferred.
