Position Overview:

The role of the Buyer involves managing the procurement of essential materials and components for our operations. This position is crucial for ensuring that our production processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the acquisition of raw materials, machined parts, and contract services to support operational teams.
  • Collaborate with various departments including Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems for effective planning and supplier management.
  • Engage in supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management to maintain cost-effective inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards regarding the procurement and handling of materials.
  • Prepare procurement justification documents and conduct cost analyses in line with FAR/DFAR requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
  • Assess supplier performance and facilitate improvements in cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or a related diploma/certificate with at least six years of experience in procurement.

Essential skills include:

  • Strong expertise in purchasing and materials management.
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is advantageous.
  • Competence in PC applications within a Windows environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree and certifications such as CPSM or CPCM.
