Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for collecting and preparing specimens and conducting laboratory procedures essential for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases.

Key duties include:

  • Verifying, recording, and reporting laboratory results accurately and promptly.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and laboratory protocols, including maintaining cleanliness of equipment and workspaces.
  • Demonstrating extensive knowledge of human physiology and the effects of diseases relevant to testing.
  • Adhering to laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, and maintaining records of patient test results.
  • Performing authorized tests based on qualifications and experience.
  • Identifying and addressing issues that may impact test performance or result reporting.
  • Documenting corrective actions when laboratory performance deviates from established standards.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a chemical, physical, biological, or life science, along with relevant clinical laboratory experience within the last five years, or a degree in laboratory medical technology with clinical rotation.
  • National registration as an MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(ASCP), or equivalent, or be registry-eligible at the time of hire.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, and families.
