POSITION OVERVIEW:
The role entails supporting the execution of all activities within the Poker Room, ensuring that Team Member performance aligns with the organization's policies, objectives, and gaming regulations during assigned shifts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are essential to the position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary by management. All tasks must be executed in compliance with Tribal, Federal, and other relevant regulations, as well as specific organizational policies and procedures.
- Assumes full responsibility for the Poker Room in the absence of the Poker Manager.
- Ensures exceptional guest service and satisfaction levels are consistently achieved in the Poker Room.
- Oversees the initiation and conclusion of gaming activities. Manages staffing levels, including overtime and additional personnel as required based on business volume and guest needs.
- Facilitates and manages multi-table tournaments and daily promotions. Maintains departmental records and prepares daily reports.
- Secures all areas of the Poker Room; makes immediate operational decisions as necessary; addresses issues and challenges as they arise.
- Authorizes player complimentaries in accordance with the established comp matrix.
- Ensures adherence to Gaming regulations, organizational policies, gaming procedures, and guest service standards; enforces compliance with all Tribal, federal, and state regulations.
- Welcomes guests to the Poker Room, fostering rapport through personalized service.
- Observes and reports any suspicious or unusual activities.
- Maintains inventory supplies and oversees the secure distribution of gaming materials in accordance with regulations.
- Upholds the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Maintains a consistent attendance record as per the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
- Exhibits a professional and well-groomed appearance.
- Maintains departmental logs and records, ensuring effective communication with colleagues to guarantee consistency in Poker Room operations across shifts.
- Serves as a role model and a representative of FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Exercises supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include ensuring adequate staffing levels; conducting interviews, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
Directly supervises all Poker Room Dealers and subordinate staff, ensuring continuous observation of guest service standards and the technical performance of Poker Room personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess the education, training, and experience necessary to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities. FireKeepers reserves the right to verify candidates' qualifications through interviews, assessments, and other methods.
Requirements typically include a High School diploma or GED, three years of progressive experience in a Poker Room, multi-table tournament experience, and a comprehensive understanding of Tournament Directors Association (TDA) rules. Proficiency in casino computer rating and tracking systems is essential. Strong knowledge of generally accepted poker rules and the ability to apply them consistently is required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication skills are required, both written and verbal. Proficiency in basic mathematical operations is also necessary.

While performing the duties of this position, a Team Member is regularly required to communicate effectively. The role involves standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle objects. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work is conducted in various areas of the facility, where noise levels may vary.
