Key Responsibilities- Equipment Delivery and Installation: Load, secure, and deliver industrial equipment, including compactors, balers, and augers, utilizing roll off trucks, roll back trucks, and trailers.
- Fabrication and Repair: Assist in sanding, grinding, cutting, welding, and other fabrication or repair work on company containers, compactors, and other equipment in a safe manner, complying with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Maintenance and Repair: Grind metal parts after welding, weld steel using Mig and Arc welding equipment, and fabricate steel components on compactors.
- Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete required paperwork utilizing computer systems.
- Tool Operation: Utilize standard shop hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment.
- Container Assembly: Install lids and wheels on containers.
- Painting and Finishing: Paint repaired and/or new compactors.
- Customer Interaction: Provide professional interaction with internal and external customers.
- Additional Tasks: May assist in other projects or areas of the shop as needed.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of welding and cutting experience or participation in or graduation from a technical training program preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of welding and cutting, basic small shop tools and electrical knowledge, moderate welding and mechanical aptitude, knowledge of MIG/ARC and stick welding, cutting torch skills, ability to operate a forklift safely, familiarity with using a computer, familiarity with roll off truck operations, trailers operations, and load securement, good written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical Requirements: Continuously lifting/carrying a max of 35lbs, frequently up to 75lbs, and often up to 100lbs, frequently pushing/pulling a max of 75lbs, frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, frequently climbing and/or balancing, continuously working outside, continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter.
- Additional Requirements: Must have at least a valid Class B CDL, must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain prior to hire, must be at least 19 years of age, no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years, must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years, ability to travel between offices as required, ability to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and/or holidays, ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays, legally eligible to work in the United States, valid driver's license (if applicable), must successfully complete pre-employment testing, must be able to read and speak the English language.
