About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist I to join our team at Children's Wisconsin. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and operating rooms for surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our patients and staff.
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary health team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in the orientation of new personnel to the scrubbing role, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Completion of one year coursework in an operating room technician program or equivalent experience.
  • One year OR Technician experience preferred.
  • Ability to rotate shifts and/or work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with our health team members and consumers.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time for up to 85% of work time, and lift and move large pieces of equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
