About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist I to join our team at Aurora Health Care. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient operating room environment, adhering to aseptic surgical techniques and protocols.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff with various procedures, including preparing and draping the surgical area, passing instruments, and holding retractors.
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment used in the operating room, including tables, cameras, microscopes, and instrument pans.
  • Transport patients and equipment safely and efficiently, utilizing proper lifting and pushing/pulling techniques.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform other physical demands of the role.
