Job Summary and QualificationsThis role provides leadership that facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care focused on the comfort and well-being of patients. It involves utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. You will implement medically prescribed interventions.
About the Unit:
The PMCU is a 16-bed pulmonary medical-surgical unit dedicated to the care of telemetry pulmonary patients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, telemetry monitoring, BiPAP management, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, wound care, wound vac management, drain care, renal patient management, IV insertion, central line maintenance, and post-operative monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion of a BSN within five years of hire into the RN position. Grandfathering is accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions or extensions may be approved by the facility CNO and reported to the CNO Council members. Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptions as needed. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt.
- Preferred Education: Master’s in Nursing.
- Required License: Must hold and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensee should confirm with NCBON.
- Required Certifications: BLS Healthcare Provider.
- Preferred Certifications: National Certification in the area of specialty.
- Required Experience: One year of nursing experience.
