Overview of Automation Controls Position:
As a skilled automation controls engineer, you will play a critical role in implementing advanced technologies across data centers, manufacturing sites, and industrial facilities. This position involves extensive travel, with up to 30% dedicated to on-site project engagements. You will leverage expertise in platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, and similar systems to drive client operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Commissioning: Lead the startup and verification of PLC and DDC control systems, ensuring reliable performance and smooth integration.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with engineers, clients, and electrical teams to ensure seamless automation integration.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate, detailed records of system operations and modifications, ensuring all documentation aligns with the project status.
- On-Site Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to subcontractors, enforce quality control practices, and troubleshoot issues as they arise on-site.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: 2+ years with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, or similar platforms (such as Inductive Automation Ignition, ICONICS).
- Technical Proficiency: Proven background in PLC installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Specialized Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC control theory, electronics, and electrical circuits.
- Communication & Problem-Solving Skills: Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and proactively address challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience with DDC controls, Modbus, and BACnet protocols.
- Familiarity with Tridium or other BAS control systems.
- Experience with Active Directory and SAML 2.0.
