Automation Controls Specialist

Prime Partners is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing advanced automation technologies across various industries, including data centers and manufacturing sites.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, with expertise in platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, and similar systems.
This position involves extensive travel, up to 30% of the time dedicated to on-site project engagements. You will work closely with engineers, clients, and electrical teams to ensure seamless automation integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Commissioning: Lead the startup and verification of PLC and DDC control systems, ensuring reliable performance and smooth integration.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with engineers, clients, and electrical teams to ensure seamless automation integration.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate, detailed records of system operations and modifications, ensuring all documentation aligns with the project status.
- On-Site Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to subcontractors, enforce quality control practices, and troubleshoot issues as they arise on-site.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, or similar platforms.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven background in PLC installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Specialized Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC control theory, electronics, and electrical circuits.
- Communication & Problem-Solving Skills: Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and proactively address challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience with DDC controls, Modbus, and BACnet protocols.
- Familiarity with Tridium or other BAS control systems.
- Experience with Active Directory and SAML 2.0.
