Senior Oncology Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Oncology Veterinary Technician to join our Radiation Oncology team at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional cancer care to canine and feline patients.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality cancer care to patients, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery
- Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Train and mentor junior technicians on day-to-day responsibilities and proper animal handling techniques
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of diagnostics and procedures
- Coordinate and submit samples to external laboratories for accurate and timely test results
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a veterinary technology program or equivalent preferred
- Five years of experience working with animals in a clinical or research setting, including experience in a veterinary oncology setting
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred
This position requires working in a clinic environment, with exposure to animal odors and contact with animals that may harbor diseases. Employees will be expected to request assistance with lifting or carrying animals or materials over 40 pounds.
