Role Responsibilities:

The Lung Transplant Clinical Nurse Coordinator will oversee the care of patients with advanced lung diseases and facilitate the transplantation process. This role involves:

  • Coordinating comprehensive care for patients throughout the transplant journey, from pre-transplant assessments to post-operative follow-ups.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and enhance nursing practices.
  • Making informed clinical decisions based on the latest research and best practices to address complex patient needs.
  • Providing education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding transplant processes and care protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining accurate patient records in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Participating in the development of care protocols and standards in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Providing on-call support to manage transplant activities and facilitate communication among all parties involved.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Clinical Transplant Coordinator certification preferred.
