Job Title: Forklift Driver / Warehouse Associate

At DHL Global Forwarding, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Driver / Warehouse Associate to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a forklift to transport goods and materials within the warehouse, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Receive, sort, and segregate incoming shipments, verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Load and unload shipments onto or off of pallets, trays, racks, and shelves, using hand tools as needed.
  • Process outgoing shipments according to established procedures and regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Prepare and update information in computerized systems, including logs, packing lists, pick tickets, invoices, inventories, transfer/delivery tickets, and orders/receipts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, performing audits to ensure the integrity and security of freight.
  • Perform routine vehicle, equipment, and warehouse maintenance, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Operate a forklift, hand jacks, and other vehicles and equipment, adhering to company safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in software applications and systems used in warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of scanning freight in/out of the warehouse, with experience in inventory control and management.
  • Detail-oriented and strong follow-up skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Able to walk/stand for long periods of time and lift 60-80 pounds, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift experience (sit-down is required) - minimum 2 years, with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution and freight forwarding industry practices.
  • Loading trailers/shipping containers is required, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Warehouse Distribution and/or Freight Forwarding industry experience required, with a strong understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Flexible hours: availability 1st shift - 6 am to 6 pm (though this may vary), with a strong attendance record and ability to adapt to changing work schedules.
