Job Summary

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all plant systems and equipment. This includes monitoring and maintaining balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. The successful candidate will respond to system failures by taking corrective action and completing or assigning repairs to ensure systems are operational and functioning safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs repairs in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds major equipment/components.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
  • Responds to emergency breakdowns and performs service calls.
  • Collaborates with the Plant Maintenance Manager to establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
Requirements
  • 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Proficient in welding and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems, electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipment.
Work Environment

The Plant Maintenance Technician will work in a material recycle facility, repair/maintenance facility, or outdoors, and will be exposed to a physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
