Job Summary

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment, including balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings.

This position requires the ability to respond to system failures, complete or assign repairs, and ensure systems are operational and functioning safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs repairs in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds major equipment and components.
  • Maintains DEI backlog and establishes work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Inspects the quality of third-party repairs and recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
Requirements
  • 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a material recycle facility, repair/maintenance facility, outdoors, or other facilities, with exposure to physical demands, including dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.

Normal setting for this job is a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity, including pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting objects over 50 pounds.
