Job Summary

Embassy Suites Chicago is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Hotel Sales Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets through proactive sales activity and effective relationship-building with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed revenue and sales activity goals through a profitable and win-win selling approach
  • Qualify new prospects, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and service secured business for assigned market segments
  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat clients using multiple channels, including local travel as needed
  • Participate in special promotions and blitzes to drive sales growth
  • Host in-person and virtual site tours of the property to showcase its amenities and services
  • Attend off-premise after-hour functions to promote the hotel and build relationships with clients
  • Review billing with clients and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances
  • Produce and distribute formal hotel communications, such as BEOs and resumes, on a regular basis and within agreed-upon internal deadlines
  • Maintain files and sales databases according to company standards
  • Greet clients upon arrival for their events and provide exceptional customer service
  • Promptly follow up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner
  • Smile, acknowledge, and greet guests in passing

Requirements

  • Experience in a hotel sales role with a proven track record of success
  • Strong and effective sales skills, with the ability to work with clients to determine and anticipate their needs
  • Highly developed customer service skills, with the ability to provide exceptional service to clients
  • Effective business writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure

Education and/or Experience

  • Catering sales experience in a hotel is preferred, with a proven track record of success
  • High school degree required, Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred
  • Hilton operating system and Delphi experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Hours

Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, work schedules will vary according to business needs, including some weekends, night shifts, and/or holidays.
