Position Overview:
Accountable for utilizing sonography technology to generate high-quality diagnostic echocardiograms, ensuring optimal patient care. Typically operates under the guidance of or in collaboration with a more experienced Sonographer or attending cardiologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in line with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) standards for digital image acquisition.
  • Responsible for executing and archiving calculations for the reporting of all pediatric ultrasound imaging.
  • Completes comprehensive studies on new patients as per ASE guidelines for congenital heart patients; downloads studies and provides calculations for reports according to standards.
  • Assists in conducting Transesophageal Echocardiograms.
  • Supports Research studies when applicable.
  • Must obtain certification in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI within the first year of employment.
This is a full-time role working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Occasional floating to other Children's Health locations may be required. (Start time hours can be discussed during interviews)

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

EDUCATION

  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certification in one of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular preferred.
  • Certification in Pediatric preferred.
  • Must achieve Pediatric Echo certification by ARDMS or CCI within 24 months of employment (ARDMS preferred over CCI) required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as mandated by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements required.
