The Student Engagement Coordinator serves as the primary contact for all student-related activities within the Center for Teaching, Learning & Research. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from managing fellowship applicants and summer research assistants to supporting tutors and tutees.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with an hourly rate of $29.58.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the Center's Fellowships and Undergraduate Research Office by managing all aspects of student involvement throughout the fellowship cycles and undergraduate research initiatives. This includes:
  1. Promoting fellowship and undergraduate research funding opportunities, as well as showcasing completed awards and projects.
  2. Overseeing the preparation of application materials for fellowship competitions and undergraduate research funding.
  3. Coordinating logistics and preparing materials for selection committee meetings.
  4. Monitoring email communications related to fellowships and undergraduate research.
  5. Managing the hiring process for summer research assistants and coordinating events related to summer research support.
  • Maintains a welcoming and supportive environment for students seeking assistance at the Center, assessing their needs and connecting them with appropriate resources.
  • Recruits, hires, and supervises a small team of student support staff for the Center.
  • Processes necessary documentation for hiring over 100 tutors for various support programs.
  • Collects and analyzes data related to student employment and fellowship/undergraduate research activities.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of events related to the Center.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years of experience in educational support or administrative roles within educational institutions.
  • Proven attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in organizing projects with foresight, confidence, and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Excel and Google Drive, with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Positive engagement with diverse populations, including students and staff.
  • Experience in guiding and managing young employees.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of diversity in a learning environment.

Working Conditions:
Work is conducted in an office setting, requiring the ability to operate standard office equipment.
