Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Staff Accountant.
  • Apply your understanding of accounting principles in daily tasks.
  • Gain insights into the processes established by the Housing and Urban Development.
  • Engage in data entry, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Utilize automated systems and tools for efficient workflow.
  • Participate in various project work as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including account types and financial statements.
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to think critically and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in learning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office software.
  • A willingness to learn and develop into a more experienced accountant.
  • Strong comprehension skills for following written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in multi-tenant or public housing environments.
  • Familiarity with basic bookkeeping principles and practices.
