Role Overview:
The Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) is a unique role within Aware Recovery Care. RSS professionals are integral members of a multidisciplinary Addiction Care team, assisting clients through an intensive In-Home Addiction Treatment program that spans up to a full year. The RSS acts as a personal mentor, aiding clients in identifying and cultivating the essential skills and daily routines necessary for achieving lasting recovery and personal goals.
At Aware Recovery Care, you will empower clients with the tools they need to navigate their daily lives and support them on their individualized paths to recovery. This is an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with a team that shares your commitment to making a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the 52-week In-Home Addiction Treatment (IHAT) program within clients' home settings.
- Travel to meet clients in their home environments and provide transportation to necessary appointments.
- Collaborate with the Addiction Treatment team to ensure tailored client care.
- Manage a caseload of clients, scheduling appointments as needed.
- Provide support through therapeutic connections, including both in-person and telephonic interactions.
- Document clinical notes promptly in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Engage with clients in a manner that meets them at their current stage of recovery.
- Work across departments to ensure comprehensive client support.
- Utilize personal recovery experiences to offer guidance during the recovery process.
- Participate in case reviews, supervision, and ongoing education.
- Mentor and support new team members.
- Be flexible and open to working evenings and weekends as required.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of continuous recovery experience from any Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or personal experience with addiction within family or loved ones is preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) is required.
- Proof of auto insurance is necessary.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
