POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee all facets of financial stewardship, including corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and budget preparation. The role also encompasses the formulation of internal control policies and procedures, alongside financial risk management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all financial accounting and reporting functions within the organization.
  • Generate precise and timely monthly financial statements and prepare comprehensive monthly reporting packages, including comparative analyses of operational results and variance explanations.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and expand a small accounting team (e.g., Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable/Bookkeeping).
  • Maintain the integrity of the accounting database.
  • Prepare for upcoming annual audits.
  • Review bank reconciliations, loan schedules, and all other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist the CEO in formulating the annual corporate budget, ensuring compliance, and providing year-to-date updates.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
  • Prepare and distribute timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reports.
  • Research and resolve technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Manage compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Document and develop business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Perform additional controller duties as required.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to oversee inventory management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller, preferably within the beauty sector.
  • Minimum of 5 years of cumulative experience in accounting and finance.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting is essential.
  • CPA or CMA certification is mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements.
  • Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing processes.
  • Exceptional skills in accounting software usage and administration.
