Position Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, negotiate, and oversee National Video media purchases.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Assistant Negotiators.
  • Support the training of media interns within the team.
  • Engage in negotiations and procure National Video scatter/upfront initiatives.
  • Stay informed about market trends through industry meetings and publications.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with relevant target demographics.
  • Administer media schedules in accordance with client buying protocols.
  • Assist in the management of timelines and execution of value-added opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, schedules, budgets, and network billing reconciliations.
  • Evaluate the performance of media buys using current ratings, securing makegoods or audience deficiency units as necessary.
  • Contribute to the preparation of post-analysis reports.
  • Adhere to all deadlines for buys, analyses, and assigned projects, aiding the team in establishing project timelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with sales representatives to negotiate and uphold the integrity of media buys.
  • Inform supervisors about market conditions, unique opportunities, and potential disruptions to schedules.
  • Assist in the development of cost per points, competitive assessments, and group initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in an agency setting is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a national media investment buying context.
  • Experience in negotiating TV dayparts and online video is essential.
  • Strong skills in negotiation and presentation.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and thrive under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Media Ocean software (DDS, MBOX) is a plus.
