Role Overview:

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to contribute to our Hardware Engineering division. This role focuses on the development of sophisticated airborne systems, including communication links, sensor systems, armament equipment, and avionics.

The successful candidate will also engage in the integration of both new and existing systems across various platforms, including airborne, maritime, and terrestrial vehicles. Our facility supports a diverse array of product lines, offering opportunities to work on multiple programs that enhance career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of innovative products and testing hardware.
  • Enhance existing products through mechanical engineering expertise.
  • Utilize 3-D CAD modeling software to develop design solutions that meet specified requirements.
  • Participate in production, integration, and testing phases.
  • Conduct research and gather information from vendors to inform design decisions.
  • Contribute to design reviews and equipment integration efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, electrical, and testing engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware in a collaborative team environment.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in mechanical design or related fields.
  • Proficient in 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Experience in capturing system requirements and performing trade studies.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with airborne systems, cockpit displays, avionics, and radar systems.
  • Understanding of prototyping and agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for non-exotic materials.
  • Knowledge of structural design principles.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related STEM field is required.
