The Department of Pediatrics is looking for a detail-oriented Pediatric Medical Education Coordinator to support our Office of Education. This role involves managing the Pediatrics Grand Rounds series and assisting with the Pediatrics Residency Program.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Pediatric Medical Education Coordinator, your daily tasks will include:
1. Processing reimbursements and travel arrangements.
2. Monitoring program requirements and collecting necessary documentation from residents and faculty.
3. Assisting in the recruitment and orientation of new residents.
4. Organizing meetings, including scheduling, setup, and minute-taking.
5. Creating promotional materials and tracking attendance for presentations.
6. Ensuring adherence to accreditation standards.
About Our Office:
The Office of Education within the Department of Pediatrics plays a vital role in the education of medical students and physicians at various training levels. Our dedicated team coordinates five educational programs and collaborates with a nationwide network of pediatric medical education professionals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Advanced degrees may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in technical tools such as Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with medical education processes.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.39 to $22.37, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. The University of New Mexico also provides educational benefits through tuition remission and dependent education programs.
