POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Process Improvement Engineering Manager I is tasked with identifying and spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and advancing retail distribution within the organization. This role involves leading improvement initiatives through various stages of the Lean Sigma methodology (DMAIC, Lean, PDCA, etc.) to streamline distribution center operations and minimize associated costs within the Supply Chain. Additionally, this position oversees operational readiness for new facility launches and modifications of existing sites. Responsibilities also include collaborating with Network Strategy, Distribution Center Operations, and Training to provide cross-functional project support. As process enhancements are executed, the Process Improvement Engineering Manager I will be responsible for developing and maintaining process documentation in conjunction with Distribution Center Operations and Training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead improvement initiatives from concept through to full implementation across various organizational sectors.
- Oversee operational readiness for new facility launches and modifications of current facilities.
- Provide engineering support and guidance to Distribution Center Operations.
- Offer leadership, direction, and accountability for team members involved in projects.
- Develop and deliver training as necessary to promote continuous improvement within the organization (Change Management, DMAIC, Lean Sigma, etc.).
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation related to newly implemented processes (Best Practices, Procedures, Visual Management Guides, Control Plans, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, preferably in Industrial or Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant engineering experience, particularly in retail distribution operations.
- Minimum Green Belt certification in Six Sigma; Black Belt preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum Green Belt certification in Lean; Black Belt preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to manage projects independently across multiple improvement initiatives; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Effective communication skills to interface with all organizational levels and provide clear project updates.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional strategic projects, facilitating Kaizen events, and effectively driving value and change within the organization.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and technical writing skills.
- Experience in time studies, work measurement, and data collection for developing engineered labor standards; LMS experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project; expert level preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Minitab, and simulation modeling preferred.
- Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time to support change initiatives across the distribution network.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role requires the ability to work in an office setting, primarily using a computer. Duties include sitting, standing, walking, hearing, and engaging in meetings, as well as typing and handling paperwork.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May include oversight of interns and analysts as needed.
