About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS INC. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to our clients, addressing their behavioral health needs, and promoting well-being and health equity for diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychotherapy services to clients, including initial assessment and ongoing therapy, to facilitate positive changes and achieve client goals.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, working collaboratively with clients to define and prioritize areas for improvement and establish short- and long-term objectives.
  • Offer individual, family, and group therapy sessions to support clients in achieving their desired outcomes.
  • Respond to crisis situations as needed, providing timely and effective support to clients.
  • Collaborate with other professionals within and outside the agency to ensure seamless client care and address complex needs.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of behavioral health staff, supporting the growth and development of the team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely mental health records, including statistics and documentation required for administrative purposes.
  • Engage in outreach activities to identify prospective clients and community needs, facilitating the satisfaction of those needs and promoting the agency's mission.
  • Participate in supervision and professional development activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and agency policies.
  • Foster positive client relationships, advocating for clients' mental health needs and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in behavioral health (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Substance Abuse, or Psychology) with at least one year of clinical experience or case management experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health and community resources.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications and electronic medical records (EMRs).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for work-related duties.
  • Professionalism, diplomacy, and non-judgmental approach in challenging situations.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cultural competency to serve the LGBTQIA2S+ community and other diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active licensure from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (e.g., LMSW, LAC, LAMFT, or LASAC).
  • Personal or professional experience working with members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community or individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
Work Environment

Our office environment is climate-controlled, with minimal safety/health hazard potential. You will work primarily in an office setting, with extensive use of clinical documentation and electronic medical records. This role may require evening and occasional weekend work.
