Role Summary:
The HR Operations Specialist will be pivotal in cultivating a constructive and efficient workplace culture within our organization. This role encompasses overseeing all HR functions, such as talent acquisition, employee onboarding, workplace relations, regulatory compliance, benefits management, payroll processing, and performance evaluation. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HR principles, a strong commitment to employee growth, and the capability to address the specific challenges inherent in a legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration: Oversee and manage the payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate wage disbursement. Collaborate with finance departments to address payroll discrepancies and uphold compliance with relevant tax and labor regulations.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process, which includes crafting job descriptions, screening applicants, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding of new employees. Ensure a smooth and welcoming transition for all new hires.
- Workplace Relations: Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries and issues. Promote a positive organizational culture, facilitate conflict resolution, and ensure consistent enforcement of company policies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Regularly update the employee handbook to ensure all HR policies are current and effectively communicated.
- Benefits Management: Supervise the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other organizational benefits. Liaise with vendors and assist employees with benefits-related questions.
- Performance Evaluation: Support the development and execution of performance appraisal processes. Provide guidance to management on goal setting, feedback provision, and performance assessments.
- Training & Development: Identify staff training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and career advancement within the organization.
- HR Metrics & Analytics: Monitor and analyze HR metrics to guide strategic decision-making. Prepare comprehensive reports for management on HR-related issues, including turnover rates and employee satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, ideally within a legal or professional services context.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Capacity to manage confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
- Proficiency in HR management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are advantageous.
