Director of Housekeeping Job Description

At Great Wolf Lodge, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping services and programming. This senior-level position is responsible for directing all aspects of housekeeping operations, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement housekeeping strategies to ensure guest satisfaction and maintain profitability.
  • Supervise and manage a large housekeeping department, including recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating team members.
  • Plan and implement staff training and development programs within the department.
  • Monitor and manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping and Laundry department, including cleaning of public areas and guest rooms.
  • Manage the room expeditor software program (REX) to maintain maximum efficiency of inventory management.
  • Conduct investigative actions with guests, where necessary, for guest service and liability claims.
  • Develop and implement programs to ensure a safe facility and work environment, in compliance with all appropriate regulations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience supervising/managing a large housekeeping department.
  • Excellent management skills, including conflict resolution, coaching, development, and teamwork.
  • Committed to comprehensive and in-depth analysis, planning, and implementation of every work effort.
  • Experience creating and maintaining documents with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
