Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our team at English Meadows Senior Living. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall management and direction of our assisted living facility, with a focus on providing high-quality care and services to our residents, including those with dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Management
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to all departments within the facility, ensuring a positive and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork and resident-centered care.
    • Recruit, train, and mentor staff to ensure high performance and job satisfaction, with a particular emphasis on dementia care training and education.
    • Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering exceptional care to our residents.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Oversee daily operations, including resident care, dining services, housekeeping, and maintenance, with a focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for residents with dementia.
    • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures tailored to dementia care needs to enhance facility performance.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including those specific to Virginia Department of Social Services assisted living and dementia care standards.
  • Dementia Care Management
    • Implement and oversee specialized programs and activities designed to improve the quality of life for residents with dementia.
    • Work closely with healthcare professionals and caregivers to develop personalized individual care plans for residents with cognitive impairments.
    • Stay updated on best practices and advancements in dementia care, ensuring that the facility's practices reflect the latest standards and research.
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare and manage the facility's budget, ensuring financial stability and accountability.
    • Oversee billing, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
    • Develop strategies to optimize revenue and control costs while maintaining high-quality services and specialized dementia care.
  • Resident & Family Relations
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families, providing support and education about dementia care.
    • Address and resolve resident and family concerns in a timely and effective manner.
    • Promote and implement programs and activities that enhance the quality of life for residents with cognitive impairments.
  • Marketing & Community Relations
    • Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new residents and maintain occupancy levels, highlighting the facility's expertise in dementia care.
    • Represent the facility in the community, build relationships with local organizations, and participate in community events.
    • Manage public relations and communication efforts to promote the facility's reputation and services, including its specialized dementia care programs.
  • Quality Assurance & Improvement
    • Monitor and evaluate the quality of dementia care and services provided, implementing improvements as needed.
    • Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices in dementia care.
    • Lead efforts to continuously enhance service delivery and resident satisfaction, with a focus on residents with cognitive impairments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior living management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, including experience with dementia care.
  • Proven track record of successful facility management and financial oversight.
  • Extensive knowledge of dementia care techniques and best practices, along with Virginia's assisted living regulations and standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
