Position Summary:Heery is currently seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager with a focus on aviation projects. This role encompasses all responsibilities associated with senior project management, along with specialized knowledge and experience essential for the successful execution of aviation-related initiatives.
The successful candidate will oversee the alignment of LAWA's strategic goals by managing activities and interdependencies among multiple project teams. This position emphasizes the delivery of the overarching program, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators related to project progress, resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular site inspections to assess construction progress.
- Evaluate the status of completed work periodically.
- Ensure that construction activities are conducted in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
- Review contractor payment requests and budget status.
- Assess subcontracts and insurance documentation.
- Analyze change orders and their implications.
- Review monthly job cost reports and evaluate contingency adequacy.
- Examine construction schedules and disbursement timelines.
- Review lien waivers and other essential documentation.
- Prepare comprehensive project status reports and recommend fund releases.
- Ensure contract drawings and specifications meet industry standards.
- Analyze the developer's budget and coordinate with the Cost Advisory group for accurate estimates.
- Review and provide feedback on construction agreements and qualifications.
- Evaluate submitted documents including zoning approvals, surveys, permits, and compliance certifications.
- Prepare Construction Risk Assessment Reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to deliver efficient and courteous service to clients.
- Proficient in presenting information effectively.
- In-depth understanding of financial principles and terms.
- Ability to perform complex calculations and budget forecasts.
- Experience in financial/business analysis and report preparation.
- Capability to solve complex problems and navigate various options.
- Expert analytical and quantitative skills with a proven track record in strategic solution development.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with construction practices and the entitlement process.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in construction or project management, particularly in commercial or public facility construction.
- At least 5 years of experience managing complex projects with values exceeding $20 million.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction administration or related fields.
- Experience managing a project controls team is preferred.
- Experience in aviation and terminal projects is highly desirable.
- A strong mechanical background is advantageous.
- Relevant professional licensure or certifications such as PE, RA, CCM, AAAE, LEED, PMP, or AICP are preferred.
