Your Role

In this role, you will be based in our Honolulu office, contributing to the growth of our Water Business Line in Hawaii. You will engage in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with a team of professionals who value teamwork and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Oversee the execution of water and wastewater treatment projects, focusing on advanced wastewater treatment processes and mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include engineering analyses, modeling, and producing detailed design documentation.
  • Project Oversight: Cultivate strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders by delivering exceptional service. You will manage project scope, budget, and timelines while facilitating collaboration among team members and clients.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior engineers in their professional development, ensuring they are well-versed in technical project execution.
  • Brand Advocacy: Represent Stantec in regional and national industry forums to enhance our corporate presence and reputation.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven expertise in wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment, including biosolids management.
  • Experience in designing water and wastewater utility systems.
  • Strong project management skills with a clear understanding of the interplay between project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams to meet client needs.
  • Familiarity with Hawaii's water market and experience with local projects and clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and design software.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Education and Experience
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Hawaii.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in public and municipal water infrastructure projects.
  • Established relationships with water utilities in Hawaii are advantageous.
