Your Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our team in Hawaii. As a key member of our Water business, you will work on smaller projects and assist senior engineers/designers in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for projects. Your responsibilities will include performing civil engineering design, preparing engineering project documents, and attending client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform civil engineering design, including engineering drawings, hydraulic system calculations, pipe design calculations, and engineering reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, and client contact and communication.
  • Attend and assist in client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to gain a better understanding of client goals, project requirements, site assessments, and key challenges.
  • Assist in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Recognize and initiate corrective actions for technical problems.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with design intent.
  • Assist with the development of job-specific discipline specifications.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, and prepare site observation reports.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
  • Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, a Licensed PE, and a minimum of 4 years of experience. You should have a general understanding of concepts in relevant areas of civil engineering design, sanitary and water system engineering design, including gravity and pressure systems, unit processes for both wastewater and water treatment, and geotechnical survey. You should also have proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant discipline software programs.
