Mental Health Program Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Program Coordinator to join our team at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in promoting recovery-oriented services and supporting veterans with mental health needs.
About the Role
The successful candidate will serve as a Local Recovery Coordinator (LRC) for the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS). In this role, you will facilitate implementation of recovery-oriented services across Behavioral Health programs, working closely with providers, veterans, and their families to educate them on new recovery models of care. You will also provide recovery-focused training to psychology interns, post-doctoral fellows, nursing students, social work students, psychiatry residents, and medical students, as well as clinical supervision to psychology trainees as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as a Recovery Liaison to the service, facility, and VA leadership councils or committees
- Coordinates recovery activities across Behavioral Health programs and other areas as needed
- Functions as a leader, champion, and advocate for recovery models of intervention with Serious Mental Illness
- Serves as a resource to program managers and staff on implementation of recovery-oriented services
- Develops, coordinates, and clinically oversees peer support operations within Behavioral Health Service
- Serves as consultant/staff liaison to the Veterans MH Advocacy Council and Vet-to-Vet Facilitators Program
- Serves as clinical consultant to Las Vegas and Henderson Vet Centers
- Oversees Early Psychosis Intervention Coordination clinical care team and consultation process
- Participates actively in Performance Improvement (PI) activities, including lead on SMI-related SAIL measures
- Participates fully in peer review, assessing quality of professional psychology standards provided in the organization
- Participates in local, VISN, and national committees/community networking activities
- Completes and submits VISN/VACO strategic plan to direct recovery transformation at local facility
Requirements
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy
- Education: Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by APA, PCSAS, or CPA
- Licensure: Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
- Board Certification: Board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in a specialty area consistent with the assignment
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this position is $123,011-$179,700 per year, based on location and qualifications.
